Kunduros

Koundouros coastal village, together with its sandy beach, is located on the southwest side of the island of Kea (Dziya), 18 kilometres from the port. The resort is famous for its unique natural beauty. It has many small coves, beautiful sandy beaches as well as traditional windmills and superb villas, which all blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.  

It is not by chance that this place was chosen by many famous people, both Greek and from abroad, for building their country houses. It should be noted that there are many acting house constructions going on in Koundouros at this point of time.  

The Koundouros bay, which is well sheltered from summer winds (meltemya), is a safe haven for small and large vessels.  

The resort is a popular destination for one-day trips or weekends and it is also used by many tourists for long-term holidays. Moreover, it serves as interim stop during cruises to the  Cyclades islands and south-eastern areas of the Aegean Sea.  

Beach and coast  
The organised beach of Koundouros, together with its fine sand and crystal blue sea, offers visitors endless hours of relaxation. This is one of the most famous beaches of Kei. It has everything you need for rest, from wooden deck chairs with comfortable cushions to water sports, beach bars with music, snacks and drinks as well as taverns, beach volleyball courts and parking lots. The beach was granted a Blue Flag rating, which is an international award of the Foundation for Environmental Education.  

Beautiful tamarisk bushes are growing across the sea side and their abundance is decorating this place.  

Beyond the main beach Koundouros, there are numerous bays of amazing beauty. They are easily accessible and give great relaxation in peace and solitude.
