Potidea

The town has a kindergarten, school, pharmacy, hospital, many taverns, cafeterias and bars, shops with products of local manufacturing and supermarkets with all necessary goods.
There is an artificial canal running through Nea Potidaea which links Thermal bay with Toroneos bay. Here, there is a small harbour with professional and amateur boats and yachts. There are cycle lanes across the long sea side. It is possible to engage in any summer sport activity on this territory.
The rich historical past of the town includes more than 27 centuries. Founded by citizens of ancient Corinth, the town survived attacks of the army of Persian king Darrius and took part in the Peloponnesian war.
There are places, which deserve special attention, such as, the Church of St. George, small church of St. Nicholas Church Bodiless Powers and retaining walls of a Byzantine fortress.
Another town called Nea Moudania is located just ten kilometres north. It has 10,000 population, vibrant night life, cinemas and a summer theatre. This location is very convenient to make trips to central Khalkidiki – to observe the Petralona Cave, excavations of the ancient city of Olynthus and rich collection of the Archaeological Museum of Polygyros.
You can easily rent a car and visit the peninsula of Sythonia or the Holy Mount Athos. In the Sani region, which is based towards the south from Nea Potidaea, you can use the infrastructure of the luxury hotel complex or attend the one of the most colourful local events of the summer – the cultural festival of Sani Resort.
